Over the last couple of weeks, life has taken over and not allowed me to get to the beach. Portrait shoots, actual work, sickness, and getting ready for my son’s arrival has taken a lot of my time.
With that said though, I was finally able to get to the beach this weekend and was rewarded. The waves were decent (compared to what I have seen them at before) and the overcast skies that are normally over La Jolla were nonexistent. People often ask me how I get the color I do on some of my waves shots. And while I do play with some of the color levels in Lightroom, 95% of it is all about the times at which I shoot. Take last night for instance.
I knew all day on Saturday that I was going to go and shoot on Sunday. I decided to wait until sunset and go shoot. And I am really glad I did. There really was not a cloud on the western horizon and it gave the waves some GREAT coloring. I took some of what I think are my favorite shots thus far.
Let me know what you think in the comments…
The rest of the shots I took this weekend can be seen at http://surfingeye.com/recents. Take a look and hope you enjoy!
