With the start of 2013, I made a couple of resolutions to myself regarding my photography.

The first one is to submit more of my work to surf website and magazines. 

And the second is to shoot in different locations much more.  That means both in and out of the water. With a trip to the North Shore already planned for early next winter, I want to get out of my comfort zone and start shooting in more locations than just Windansea Beach.

While there is nothing wrong with Windansea, it has been spectacular and I will continue to shoot there, I feel that need to get out more.  So when my buddy Phil Gibbs (of Phil Gibbs Photography) suggested that we go up north to Carlsbad to do some wave shooting, I jumped at the chance…

The water was cold but the shore break was really good too…Here are a few from New Years day…
